How to add HOSTAFRICA to Freshdesk

    1. Log in to your HOSTAFRICA cPanel and navigate to the "Email Accounts" section to ensure your primary donor-facing email address (e.g., info@yournpo.org.za) is active. Verify that your mailbox storage is sufficient to handle the volume of incoming support tickets and attachments required for your programme reporting.

    Access your Freshdesk admin portal and navigate to "Email Settings" to retrieve your unique "Forwarding Address," which is a specific email alias provided by Freshdesk. This address acts as the bridge that allows your HOSTAFRICA-hosted emails to be ingested into the Freshdesk ticketing system.

    Return to your HOSTAFRICA cPanel and select "Forwarders" under the Email menu to create a new forwarder for your support email address. Input your Freshdesk-provided forwarding address into the destination field so that all incoming mail is automatically routed to the helpdesk.

    Navigate to the "DNS Zone Editor" within your HOSTAFRICA dashboard to add a custom SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record. Including Freshdesk in your SPF record is critical to ensure that your emails are not flagged as spam by donor or government mail servers, maintaining your domain's reputation.
